What to do when exploring?

Updated: Sep 21, 2023

I love being outdoors with my dogs and watching them explore, using their sense of smell to guide them on trails unseen to my eyes.

Getting your dog out for a walk is one of the best parts of their day. A daily dose of exercise and stimulation from their environment creates opportunities for your dog to explore and engage with other dogs, use their highly tuned senses and build on the skills of communication between dog and owner. Taking toys enhances the experience as it gets the owner involved in the excursion, you become part of the walk and not just ''the human that takes them to the park and home again''. I love my walks with my dogs and I vary where we walk as often as possible.

Enjoy! I love being outdoors with my dogs and watching them explore, using their sense of smell to guide them on trails unseen to my eyes. Let your dogs explore and encourage them - it will build their confidence and muscles Do some simple training to get yourself and your dog ready:

Recalls are a must and it makes you relax more knowing your dog will return if off lead. Heelwork, walking nicely on lead can really make an experience better and if you have a dog that pulls you will understand. Leave it is another one I highly recommend as it can be used for food items on floor or other dogs that you don't want your dogs socialising with

Taking a ball to play with can be highly beneficial and extremely tiring. Just be careful how much you use the ball especially for younger and older dogs as it can impact their joints.
